Little Lightyear Readiness Classroom

Where growing independence meets guided discovery. At Teaching World, Little Lightyears serves as the intentional bridge between our Mini Martians and Golden Galaxies classrooms. This classroom is thoughtfully designed for children who are developmentally ready for greater structure, stronger routines, and increased independence, while still thriving in a nurturing and supportive environment. What Little Lightyears Experience Each Day at Teaching World

Our daily schedule includes:

• Guided circle time with early literacy and vocabulary development
• Sensory exploration and hands-on learning
• Fine motor development through art and manipulatives
• Music and movement for coordination and confidence
• Social-emotional coaching during peer interactions
• Practice with structured routines such as lining up, cleaning up, and following multi-step directions

These experiences prepare students for the increased independence and academic focus of Golden Galaxies.

Transitioning to Golden Galaxies

Little Lightyears is designed for children who are still in diapers. We do not support potty training in this classroom.
When students begin showing signs of potty-training readiness at home and families are ready to actively begin that process, they will transition into Golden Galaxies. This ensures consistency, clear expectations, and a classroom environment that supports that next level of independence.
Children who move to Golden Galaxies are typically demonstrating:

• Strong participation in structured group learning
• Independence in classroom routines
• Emotional regulation and peer cooperation
• Readiness to begin potty training

Little Lightyears is a launchpad, a place where children build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and
prepare for their next big step within the Teaching World community.
